State of the York Watershed System

CBNERR-VA contributions to the 2025 release

As one of the region’s foremost authorities on York River estuarine habitat and water quality, and a go-to for place-based, community engagement, CBNERR-VA was primed to lead the development of the State of the York Watershed System, a report detailing status, trends and opportunities within the York River, Mobjack Bay and Piankatank River basins.Click on image above for link to official site!

The report, and its companion pieces, including this CBNERR-VA story map, stem directly from needs expressed throughout the region by residents and practitioners alike. Our aim in creating the report and its associated products was to not only address these needs in digestible and accessible ways, but to ensure that this report was yours. We hope that you find something in our products that speaks to you, and answers your questions about our shared waters - and perhaps, your backyard.
