Phytoplankton Sampling Protocol

Plankton Sampling  

  • Record - time and speed or walking along boat 5 minutes
  • Turn on PlanktoScope
  • Wait a minute - connect iPad WIFI to pkscope-chain-drop-38222, password copepode
  • Open in browser -pkscope-chain-drop-38222.local
  • Fill out sample info then continue
  • Optics config. - turn on light, IOS ~150, shutter speed ~125
  • Start pump and focus if needed
  • Stop pump
  • Change unique ID
  • Start acquisition - will run for about 30 minutes

Transfer of Images   

  • Insert USB stick
  • Goto system monitoring
  • Detect drive
  • Backup to drive

After Transferring Images  

  • Go to Gallery
  • Click on img folder
  • Delete all files in the img folder

Shut Down    

  • Home - unlock - shutdown
  • Wait 1 minute before powering down planktoscope
