Research Interests
My research interests revolve around the oceanography of coastal waters and their interactions with the open ocean, the continent or the atmosphere. These coastal areas are responsible for a large fraction of the global primary production and act as an interface between the highly-populated coastlines and the vast open ocean. My work involves identifying the role, and quantifying the importance, of the physical and biogeochemical processes governing the lower trophic levels. It includes both observational data and numerical models in order to improve our understanding of marine systems as well as decision-making.
