Atlantic Sturgeon

These ancient fish belong to a group whose fossil record stretches back to the age of the dinosaurs.

Coelacanth

Study of the VIMS coelacanth has shed important light on the biology and evolutionary history of this "living fossil."

Sea Lamprey

This primitive fish uses its jawless, circular mouth to attach and feed on other fishes.
