Coastal Systems Ecology and Modeling

Welcome to the VIMS Systems Ecology and Modeling Program!

We conduct research focused on the ecosystem ecology of estuaries and lagoons, their response to external forcing (particularly nutrient loading), the process of eutrophication, and development of intermediate and reduced complexity ecosystem models to facilitate our understanding of coastal systems and inform the management process. Please click on the links at the left to see examples of our research, educational, and outreach activities, to access our online models, and to learn more about our program. Thank you for visiting.
