Know Your York Watershed System - is CBNERR-VA's monthly webinar series dedicated to hot watershed topics.  Each month, we'll hear from the folks behind the State of the York Watershed System, catching up on the latest and learning where action is needed. This webinar series is designed for those who live, work and/or play in the York Watershed System and are eager to create positive ripple effects with just a DROP!

Episode 5: The latest in land cover, and what it means for water quality
The State of the York Watershed System was developed using the most comprehensive and contemporary data available. For land cover, that meant exploring NOAA's CCAP datasets, which were, at time of report development, last released in 2016. NOAA has since released new data, and we dive into it on this webinar.  Explore the change in watershed system land cover with us, as we provide our analysis of the new, 1m resolution data.  We'll follow these updates with Chesapeake Bay Program's take on why land cover is important for water quality, and how they use it to set limits and goals for water quality improvements.
