The Center for Coastal Resources Management conducts research and provides innovative solutions to marine resource issues. The removal of lost or abandoned crab pots provides a marine resource and economic benefit and incorporation of biodegradable escape panels provide a mechanism to reduce the capture and death of animals once a crab pot is lost.  Replacing plastic shotgun wads with biodegradable wads can reduce the amount, and environmental impact, of plastic wad litter in the marine environment.
