Reserve space on our public tours to learn more about the Batten School & VIMS and the ongoing research activities around campus. These 90-minute, guided tours are designed for adults with older children (10 and up welcome).

  • All tours include a guided interpretation of our Visitors Center — including an opportunity to view a gag grouper, catsharks, oyster toadfish and more — and a visit to two research laboratories/facilities.
  • Tours take place from 10:00 - 11:30 AM (unless otherwise noted on the calendar item) and are free.
  • Please make sure you have proper footwear for the tour (closed-toe, comfortable shoes required).
  • If special accommodation (e.g. mobility issues, hearing assistance) is needed, please e-mail venutt@vims.edu after you have registered for the tour.
  • Space is limited in labs and reservations must be made in advance. Walk-ups will not be permitted to join. Public tours are not suitable for children under 10 years of age.
